The City of Jackson, Tennessee is proposing the construction of a southern extension of State Route (SR) 186/US 45 Bypass connecting SR 1/US 70/Airways Boulevard to SR 5/US 45/South Highland Avenue south of the City of Jackson. A Transportation Planning Report (TPR) was prepared for the proposed project and approved by the Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) in March of 2009. US 45 Bypass Extension Study – Public Meeting #2

A second public meeting for the US 45 Bypass Extension Study was held on December 14th to present the alignment to the public.  The conceptual alignment was displayed on tables and walls throughout the room. 

This alignment is preliminary, but showed potential right-of-way and access points for the future project.  City of Jackson officials, their planning/engineering consultant and representatives of the Tennessee Department of Transportation were available to answer questions.  No formal presentation was given, but an automated presentation ran throughout the meeting. 

The public was invited to submit comments verbally or in writing at the meeting, or within twenty-one (21) days following the meeting.
